For free jumping he got 7.67 and 7.33 for rideability. He has an excellent trot and canter where he gained 8’s. Don Bosco has had high placements in conformation show classes and has won a number of show jumper competitions. He passes on his excellent movement and flamboyant gaits to his progeny who are of modern style and type. His first crop of foals resulted in a number of State Premium mares. He landed a sensational coup at the 2000 Hanoverian approval, where he presented two approved sons, including the champion stallion DON CRUSADOR, (Don Bosco x Lauries Crusador xx) who was the crowd pleaser and absolute favourite of the judges, this young stallion impressed each day throughout the approval procedures. He was purchased by Bernhard Bade, head of the Landesgestut in Celle, for only 90,000 DM. DON BOSCO is a very high improver in riding type and conformation. He has 4 licensed sons, 32 state premium mares and 70 auction horses. Winning sum of progeny is Euro 45,587.

DON BOSCO carries the valuable blood of DONNERHALL, RAMIRO Z AND PIK BUBE I. All three establishing their own lines within warmblood breeding .

The "Preferent" stallion RAMIRO Z descends from the famous male linage combination Rainmond - Ramzes x - Rittersporn xx. The anglo arabian Ramzez represents one of the basic blood lines on which Holsteiner breeding has been founded. Ramiro's dam is from linage 776 one of the most valuable Holsteiner female blood lines going back to Achill and Edelbert. RAMIRO'S influence on the KWPN breeding was, and still is, of utmost importance. He was given the title of ‘Horse of the Year’ in 1992. He was among the early stallions to compete. During his own sporting career, RAMIRO had numerous wins at all levels of showjumping – Nations Cups, Puissance (jumping over 2.2 metres) and in international Grand Prix competition. When based at the Zangersheide Stud he was presented with a selection of superbly bred jumping mares. His most famous daughter was with the foundation mare, Heureka Z. A daughter of this outstanding mare was Argentina Z, who with RAMIRO produced the stallion sons: Rebel I Z, Rebel II Z, Rebel III Z and Rock Z. As well as Ratina Z who, ridden by Piet Raymakers and Ludger Beerbaum, won World Cup Finals, the European Championships, the Grand Prix of Aachen, individual Olympic Silver, double Olympic Team Gold, Team Gold at the WEG, and twice team gold at the European championships. In the French publication "Monneron 2007-2008", RAMIRO was ranked 23rd with 11 CSI winners, while his son, Robin I Z is 43rd with 7 representatives.

The outstanding stallion PIK BUBE I was bred by Gunter Pape, the head of the well-known ‘breeding family’ that runs the prestigious Hengstation Pape. He formed a hugely successful partnership with the then resident trainer, the late Herbert Rehbein, where they won 11 out of 12 advanced classes in their only competition season in 1980. As a sire PIK BUBE I transmitted himself extremely diversely with great performers in all disciplines and his offspring have the brands of all breeding associations in Germany. PIK BUBE I has numerous licensed sons including Pik Noir, Paquirri, Pik Solo, Playboy, Pik Ramiro, Pikedero, Pommery, Pik Senior, Plaisir d'Amour, Piaster, etc (Pascal in the UK).

GRAND SIRE - GARDEULAN II

GARDEULAN II'S pedigree contains the priceless blood of the famous GOTTHARD crossed with the TB Waidmannsdank, thus brining together two foundation sires of Hanover's original bloodlines. His breeding record shows two Licensed stallions as well as 10 State Premium mares and a high number of progeny competing successfully in all equestrian disciplines up to FEI-level. He also sired three Verden Eliteauction candidates. Some prominent Gardeulan II offspring are GORDOLINO who was an FEI level jumper with Imke Harms, GINGER who is still performing at *** level in three day eventing with Germany's Andreas Dibowski and was placed 4th in May 2002 at the Badminton CCI***. GAMBIT who competed up to ZZ Level showjumping, GANDIA who jumped up to 1.40m and GRAUPE ROYAL who was a National Showjumper in Germany.

GOTTHARD was the leading sire of showjumpers in Germany for seven years. During his time he sired over 34 licensed stallion sons – the most highly rated of which was GOLDBERG who was based in Westfalia. In Hanover, GARDESTERN I was the most important, while the private stallions, Goldpilz, Goldstern and Godehard were all influential in their day. More recently his great-grandson, GROSSO Z has emerged as perhaps his most interesting heir. He was the sire of international showjumpers: Goya, Goldika, Gonzales, Galipolis, Queensway Big Q, Goldfink, Golden Gate, Graf Sieno and Graf 2. GOTTHARD'S son, Genever sired Genius, the World Cup Showjumping Champion of 1992. Another son, Goldpilz is the sire of John Whitaker’s Gamon. GOTTHARD has also been influential as a broodmare sire, and he was responsible for 25 States Premium mares. World Cup winner, The Natural (by Diskus) was out of a GOTTHARD mare, and VOLTAIRE the Preferent KWPN sire, was similarly out of a GOTTHARD dam. GOTTHARD mares formed the basis of the Zangersheide Stud.

GREAT GRAND SIRE - PERSER xx

PERSER xx a Hanoverian and Westfalen Approved sire was full brother to PIK AS xx. PIK AS xx is known much better as PERSER xx only entered the Warmblood breeding at the age of 12 years old while Pik As xx began his breeding carreer at four years. PERSER xx improved the breed throwing tough, intelligent offspring and versatility. Like his brother, his offspring was not always easy but compensated with the immortal will to perform that was so helpful and necessary in those days. Screening the breeding stats of 1981 one can learn that PERSER xx was ranked 9th out of all registered German Warmblood sires according to the amount won by his children in competition. This deserves a lot of respect bearing in mind he never had quite as many mares to cover compared to other stallions those days. He was ahead of very famous sires such as LADYKILLER xx. In 1986 PERSER xx was still ranked 11th again being ahead of big names like CARDINAL xx, LUGANO I, SALUT, WENDEKREIS or WATZMANN (Source: Heck in 'Die berühmtesten Hannoveraner, 1987).

PERSER xx is exclusively present in a small number of marelines who can be found in today's Hanoverian pedigrees. One of them was recently honored by an article in 'Der Hannoveraner' namely the family of Pension (by Perser xx - Wöhler). This remarkable mare founded the line the approved stallions Chincelino (by Weltmeyer), Picasso (by Pokal), Foxhunter (by Watzmann), Willem's As I and II (by Watzmann), Dupont (by Diskus), Perpignon (by Pilot) and Bundeschampion Placido (by Prestige Pilot) revealed from.

PERSER xx produced the Approved Hanoverian sons PARSIVAL, PERFEKT I and II, PERSERKOENIG, PERSEUS and PRESTO.

PATRAS a son of PERSER xx was jumped at FEI level by Peter Weinberg.

He is the grand sire of the following horses - the International GP dressage stallion GIORGIONE (Grundstein) and the International GP showjumper DON PERIGNON (Drosselklang II).

He is the great grand sire of the World Cup Showjumping winner THE NATURAL (Diskus), International GP showjumper ARIELLE (Accord II), 1.60m GP showjumper POTOMAK (Eurocommerce Rome), International GP showjumper LEE (Liberty), 1.60m showjumper LENNOX LUIS (Liberty M) and the 1.60m GP showjumper AMINA (Accord II).
